The first time a link is shared, Facebook saves a copy of its thumbnail, title and description, and keeps showing that copy even after you change the card. The free refresh tool asks it to read your card again so the preview matches your latest published version.

Open the tool

Go to /tools/refresh-link, or open the free tools hub at /tools and choose Refresh share link. You do not need an account, but signing in lets you pick your cards from a list.

Option 1: pick one of your cards

  1. Sign in

When you are signed in, the tool loads your published cards.

  2. Choose the card

Under Pick one of your cards, select the invitation. Its link fills in automatically.

  3. Refresh

    Press Refresh on Facebook.

  1. Copy the exact link you shared

Each version of a link is cached separately, so use the same link your guests received, including a guest's personal link with ?guest=.

  2. Paste it

Paste it into the Invitation link box. The tool accepts card links such as …/s/your-card, older /show and /thiep links, and links on your own verified domain, as long as they start with https://.

  3. Refresh

Press Refresh on Facebook. It opens Facebook's own preview tool in a new tab.

On Facebook

  • Facebook opens its Sharing Debugger, which asks you to log in to Facebook. If it still shows the old preview, press Scrape Again.
  • Wait a few seconds for the new preview to load, then share the link again. New posts and messages use the fresh preview.

When to refresh

  • You changed the cover or share photo.
  • You edited the card title or share description.
  • You updated the couple's names or the date.
  • A preview shows a blank or broken image.
