Refresh your share link on Facebook
Changed your card's photo or title but Facebook still shows the old preview? Refresh the share link in one click so the latest thumbnail, title and description appear.
Why refresh
Social apps remember the first version of your link
When you share an invitation on Facebook, the platform reads the page once and stores its thumbnail, title and description. Later changes to your card don't reach that stored copy on their own, so guests may still see an old photo or a draft title.
Refreshing asks the platform to read your card again right now, so the next time anyone shares or opens the link, the preview matches your finished invitation.
How it works
Three steps, under a minute
Pick or paste your link
Choose one of your published cards, or paste the exact link you shared, including a guest's personal link.
Refresh
Press Refresh on Facebook. It opens Facebook's own preview tool in a new tab.
Share it again
Wait a few seconds for the new preview to load, then share the link again. New posts and messages use the fresh preview.
Good to know
A few notes
- Facebook's Sharing Debugger asks you to log in to Facebook. If you see the old preview there, press “Scrape Again”.
- Platforms can take a few minutes to update everywhere, even after a successful refresh. Messages already sent may keep the old preview.
- Still showing the old version? Wait a minute and refresh again. Make sure you refresh the exact link you shared, since every version of a link is cached separately.
FAQ
Questions about refreshing links
Why does Facebook show an old photo of my card?
The first time a link is shared, Facebook saves a copy of its thumbnail, title and description. It keeps showing that saved copy, even after you change the card, until someone asks it to read the link again.
Does refreshing change my card or its link?
No. Your card, its address and your guests' replies are not touched. The platforms simply re-read the public page and update their preview.
Which links can I refresh?
Any public VowForever card link: short links like /s/your-card, older /show and /thiep links, guests' personal links with ?guest=, and links on your own verified domain.
Do I need a VowForever account?
No. Anyone can paste a link. If you are signed in, you can also pick one of your published cards from a list instead of copying its link.
