Most digital invitations are opened from a chat thread. A short personal message plus a link outperforms a forwarded image every time, because guests can tap through to the map, RSVP and countdown.
General rules for every app
- Write one personal line before the link, using the guest's name.
- Paste the full link on its own line so the app builds a preview.
- Send to individuals for close friends and family; use group chats only for reminders.
- Avoid sending the same message to dozens of contacts in a minute, which can trigger spam filters.
Messenger
Messenger shows a preview card with the title and cover image. Wait a second after pasting so the preview loads before you hit send.
WhatsApp previews work in individual chats and groups. Broadcast lists are useful for reminders: recipients see the message as a personal chat, but only contacts who have saved your number receive it.
Sample message
"Hi Aunt Hoa, we would love for you to celebrate with us on December 12. Everything is in the card below, including the map and a quick RSVP. Can't wait to see you!"
