A wedding gathers the love of family, friends and colleagues in one place. When the lights go down, what remains are the memories and the gratitude. A thoughtful thank-you message is more than good manners: it tells people that their time, effort and gifts really mattered to you.

Why the thank-you matters

  • It honours effort: guests rearranged work, dressed up and travelled to be with you.
  • It closes the story: a thank-you makes guests feel they were truly part of your day.
  • It shares memories: a digital note can come with photos of guests from the party, so they can keep them right away.

A simple structure

  1. A greeting using the name or form of address that fits your relationship.
  2. Thanks for coming: “Thank you for celebrating with us…”
  3. Thanks for the gift or wishes, ideally mentioning something specific.
  4. A personal feeling: “Having you there made our day complete.”
  5. A wish in return for their health and happiness.

Sample messages

For close friends

“Thank you for not skipping out on us! You turned the party up like nobody else could. Thanks for the gift and the gloriously ridiculous wishes. We have added a few unflattering photos of you to our card, so go and look. Love you!”

Warm and sincere

“Our wedding was wonderful, and you are a big reason why. Thank you for being there to witness the happiest moment of [Groom] and [Bride]'s lives. Here is to a friendship that stays as close as it is today.”

For elders and family friends

“Our families would like to thank you most sincerely for taking the time to attend and bless the marriage of our children. Your presence and kind words were a great honour to us. We wish you good health and peace.”

With photos

“Thank you for helping us make unforgettable memories on [Wedding date]. We have added our favourite photos from the day to the invitation link you already have. Open it any time to see them.”

Sending it through your invitation

  • Reuse the same link: after the wedding, add a short thank-you section and a photo album to your VowForever card and publish again. Guests who open the link they already have see the update.
  • Use your lists: the RSVP list and the received gifts page at /dashboard/received-gifts help you make sure nobody who came or sent a gift is missed.
  • Save money: there is nothing to print. Send the link with a personal line through Messenger or WhatsApp.
  • Mind the plan: your card stays online for the storage period of your plan (6 months on Free, 2 years on Basic, 5 years on Premium), and each plan has an image limit, so pick your best photos.

When to send it

  • Within 24 to 48 hours of the reception, while the feeling is fresh. A short message with a few photos is perfect.
  • Within a week at the latest. If you leave for your honeymoon, send it before you go or soon after so it is not forgotten.

Small touches that make it meaningful

  • Add one specific detail: “Thank you for singing for us; it was the highlight of the night.”
  • Choose photos where the guest looks their best.
  • Sign from both of you, as the new household.
