The map is the most-tapped element on a wedding invitation the week of the event. A wrong pin or vague address sends guests to the back gate or the wrong hotel ballroom.
Choosing the right pin
- Search the venue in Google Maps and confirm the pin sits on the guest entrance, not the loading dock.
- For large hotels, include the hall or ballroom name in the text next to the map.
- Copy the address exactly as Google Maps shows it.
- Paste it into the map widget and check the preview.
Directions that help
- Note the nearest landmark guests will recognize.
- Say where to park and whether there is a fee.
- Mention ride-hailing drop-off points if parking is limited.
- For two venues, add two maps labeled Ceremony and Reception.
Test it like a guest
Open the published card on your phone, tap the map and start navigation from somewhere across town. If the route ends at the correct entrance, you are done.
